Athena stands between the columns of her temple with spear and shield, the sacred olive tree beside her - a golden lamp that turns a dark room into an ancient sanctuary.
THE DESIGN
The panels build one scene around the lamp: the goddess in her crested helmet with a round shield and a long spear, the temple facade above her with its pediment, fluted columns and Greek meander bands, the sacred olive tree in full leaf on the next side, and a sky of small stars over everything. The wood is stained gold for a warm metallic surface, and every cut-out - leaves, stars, the boss of the shield - glows in the light color you choose and throws leaf-shaped shadows on the wall behind.
